Club de Vinos FAQ’s
What is the fee to join the Wine Club?
There is no initial membership fee but a minimum commitment of 4 releases is required. Early cancellations will be charged a $75 administrative fee.
How much will my quarterly release cost?
You will be charged quarterly or twice a year the package price of your selected club, and any applicable taxes, shipping and/or processing fees. Billing takes place on the first day of your pick-up/shipping month. Prices are subject to change without notice.
When do membership benefits begin?
Membership discounts on wine, merchandise, and at the restaurant are effective immediately following the purchase of your first release. Complimentary tastings or glasses are available beginning on your next visit on a following day.
How many guests can I bring for a complimentary tasting or glass?
Each membership is allowed a limited number of complimentary tastings per month with a limit of 4 per day regardless of membership. Limit (1) complimentary tasting or glass, per person, per day. Additional tastings will be charged at a discounted tasting price after the number of tastings have been reached for the day or month. Complimentary tastings will reset at the first of each month. They do not accumulate.
Can a friend or family member use my benefits?
Member benefits are not transferrable and apply only to the member and spouse if listed on the membership. For friends or family to have access to any member benefits, the member MUST be present. This includes complimentary tastings/glasses in addition to any additional member discounts. Additionally, De Portola Estate Winery members cannot be guests of other De Portola Estate members.
I am a pick-up customer. How will I know when my wine is available for pick-up?
Members are notified by email once their quarterly release is available for pick-up. Wines not picked up within 60 days are subject to automatic shipping and appropriate shipping charges will be billed to the card on file. Pick-up dates are also listed on our website.
Can I switch out wines in my Club de Vinos release?
We do not allow substitutions and/or exchanges. While you may have wine preferences, we encourage you to expand your palate and try something new. We strive to not duplicate wine in your quarterly releases so that you can experience all that De Portola Estate Winery has to offer.
What states do you ship to?
We currently can only ship within California. Please check back often as we will be adding new shipping states.
I am a shipping customer? When should I expect my wines?
Releases are shipped according to our shipment schedule posted on our web site. All wine club shipments and online purchases require an adult signature of someone 21 years or older at time of delivery. We strongly recommend shipments be sent to a business address. All expected shipping dates are listed on our website.
How can I update my membership information?
You can update your information by logging into your account on our website. Always remember to save your updated information. You can also update your information by emailing Wine Club .
What if I am unavailable to sign for my shipment?
UPS will make 3 delivery attempts before returning your wine to us. You may contact UPS to make alternate delivery arrangements if necessary. Members are responsible for charges associated for redirected or returned shipments. A returned shipment fee of $12.00 is applied to all returns.
What is your cancellation policy?
By joining Club de Vinos, you agree to a commitment of 4 releases. Should you decide to cancel prior to satisfying that commitment, an administrative fee of $75 will apply. All cancellations must be received in writing at least 30 days prior to the next release.
